March Technical Tour – Edina Brookside Water Plant - Thursday, March 12, 2020
The APWA-MN Chapter Membership & Events Committee invites you to join us for a technical tour of the City of Edina’s Brookside Water Treatment Plant! Hosted by the City of Edina, the tour will be led by Dave Goergen, Public Works Coordinator. Mr. Goergen will present information on the challenges of siting a water treatment facility into a fully developed community and ultimately retrofitting it into an existing parking structure. The $6M treatment facility was needed to treat groundwater that was showing high levels of vinyl chloride in excess of MPCA standards. Edina Utilities is committed to providing safe drinking water despite the challenges created by pollution that occurred years ago.
