The Underground Utilities Construction Inspector School provides practical information to enable people with underground utility inspection responsibilities to expertly and confidently do their jobs. The instructors for each course topic are experienced professionals in each area.

2026-2027 Program Details

Registration for 2026-2027 will open in mid-July 2026. 

 

LOCATIONS: 

• PLYMOUTH, MN: Plymouth Community Center, 14800 - 34th Ave. North, Plymouth, MN 55447
• VIRTUAL: This option is ONLY available for participants located more than 50 miles from a live site
• OTHER: APWA-MN is seeking a host site in greater Minnesota for participants in the area to gather for class sessions. Potential sites should be able to comfortably seat at least 12 people and have technology for those in the room to hear and see streaming video from Plymouth for live presentations. One free course registration will be offered to someone at the host site. We are seeking live sites outside the Twin Cities metro for current and future years. Email us if you are interested in learning more.

COST: $650/person

SCHEDULE: Eight sessions will be held; all sessions will meet from 7:30 am - noon on the dates below.

COURSE SIZE: The Plymouth live site is limited to 35 participants. Other live sites are TBD. 

REGISTRATION WINDOW: Registration for all locations will open mid-July 2026 and will remain open until filled.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Register by September 18, 2026.

CEUs AND OTHER PROGRAMS: Participants who complete all sessions of the school will earn 3.2 CEUs. The UUCIS also qualifies for 16 contact hours toward MDH license renewal requirements and qualifies for 20 indirect contact hours with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.
