Disaster Management for Water and Wastewater Utilities

The cities of Golden Valley and Crystal will be hosting a Disaster Management For Water and Wastewater Utilities course March 10 and 11, 2020. This FEMA-approved course is intended for all levels of staff involved in water and wastewater operations. Attached is a program informational flyer. Please note, this is the same course that was offered in February 2017. In order to maximize the reach of this training, those that attended the 2017 class will not be able to register for this class.
 
Dates: Tuesday, March 10, and Wednesday, March 11, 2020 (you must attend both days)
 
Time: 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Includes a 30-minute break for lunch.
 
Recommended attendees: Public works staff involved in utilities from front-line to upper management are encouraged to attend.
 
Cost: There is no cost for the training as it is covered by Department of Homeland Security. However, due to the logistics of bringing in trainers and limited availability for this training, please do your best to commit attendees to fully attend the two days. 
 
Lunch: We are looking into options for providing lunch on site.

Please note that the class size is limited, once the class is filled we will start a waiting list if needed. Also, you will not be registered until all the required information above is submitted. 
 
Registration deadline:
The class size is limited to 50. There is no limit in the number of attendees from one agency, but it is first-come, first-served for registrations.

To obtain a FEMA student identification (SID) number (free), go to: https://cdp.dhs.gov/femasid/register
 
Other notes:
It is encouraged, but not required, that students take IS-100, IS-200, IS-700 and IS-800 online prior to this course. These classes are available online for free by visiting: https://training.fema.gov/is/crslist.aspx
