Young Professionals Group

The APWA-MN Young Professionals (YP) Group is composed of fun and outgoing public works professionals interested in building new networking connections. The group gives members the opportunity to have fun, meet, and spend time with other public works colleagues outside of the traditional work setting. We understand that the public works community is fairly small and the odds of crossing paths with each other throughout our careers is fairly large. What better way to foster good working relationships than to meet and spend time with the people who will be our colleagues for years to come!

Who We Are Looking For:

We encourage all public works professionals in their 20s and 30s to become active in this group as time allows. Please contact Alex Jordan at ajordan@lakevillemn.gov to be added to the Young Professional’s member list (you do not need to be a member of APWA-MN to be a member of the APWA-MN Young Professional’s Group).

Advantages of Getting Involved:

  • Meet and network with fellow public works professionals (Networking Guide).
  • Become involved in the larger APWA-MN Chapter.
  • Opportunity to attend various social, technical, and volunteer-oriented APWA-MN events.
  • Network and engage with student chapter members.

Events:

  • WhirlyBall Anniversary Event
  • New Graduate Welcome BBQ
  • YP Golf Outing (mini)
  • APWA/AWWA YP Canterbury Downs Race Night
  • Public Works Facility Technical Tour
