MCES hosting Budget Webinar - Session #1

CUSTOMER BUDGET & ANNUAL UPDATE
The budget and annual update events are hosted to share preliminary rate information with our 110+ customer communities, as well as to provide information on our capital program and our strategies for managing rate increases. Customer feedback from these forums is shared with the MCES General Manager, MCES Leadership Team, and the Metropolitan Council Environment Committee.

2021

MCES staff will present:

• MCES proposed 2022 budget
• Municipal wastewater charge
• MCES Capital Improvement Program

Updates on:

• MCES Customer Portal new applications
• COVID-19 research and impacts to MCES
• 2050 Water Resources Policy Plan

A preliminary municipal wastewater charge (MWC) for 2022 will be sent via email in early May with supporting calculations.

There are two opportunities to participate. The events will be identical, so you only need to register for one date. Registration is required to attend.

2020

The 2020 Open House & Budget Workshops were virtually via Webex Events due to COVID-19. The webinars were held on May 21 and June 11, 2020. Combined, the events had a total attendance of 86 individuals representing at least 40 customer communities as well as other stakeholders. At both events, MCES staff presented the 2021 budget, how the municipal wastewater charge (MWC) is calculated, the information available to municipalities through the MCES Customer Portal, and the capital improvement program, including a selection of interceptor and plant project highlights.
