APWA-MN Fall Virtual Session #1 - Engineering Ethics: Your Professional Responsibility

As you may have heard, due to COVID-19, Chapter Officers have decided to cancel the annual Fall Conference planned to take place at the Earle Brown Center on November 19-20, 2020. Despite the cancellation, the Conference Planning Committee has been working hard to put together four one-hour educational virtual presentations for our membership this October and November.

The first session, Engineering Ethics: Your Professional Responsibility, will happen on Thursday, October 8 from 10 to 11 am. Our presenter will be Josh Root, MnDOT Senior Legal Counsel and Data Practices Compliance Officer. Josh will discuss the institutional and personal steps to identify good ethical behaviors and highlight case studies that demonstrate room for improvement.

The Chapter intends that each of the virtual sessions provided will meet the requirements for professional development hours (PDH) mandated for professional engineer license renewal; however, participants are responsible for evaluating the content of the session and maintaining any necessary documentation.

All members are invited to participate and there is no fee to attend virtually. Registration will be open through Tuesday, October 6. After registration and before the session, you will receive meeting access information via email. If you experience any problems registering, contact Chapter Assistant, Pat Schutrop.

Feel free to reach out to either Matt or Beth if you have any questions. And stay tuned for an invitation to the Fall Business meeting!
