APWA-MN award nominations are due October 3, 2025.

APWA-MN awards are a great opportunity to shine a light on your outstanding projects and people and to bring recognition to deserving candidates. There are many deserving of recognition that are not nominated - APWA-MN wants to partner with you to bring well-earned recognition! Please share this invitation with others and encourage their project and/or personnel nominations as well.

NEW IN 2025: Young Professional Personnel Award

Award recipients will be recognized at the APWA-MN Fall Conference on Nov. 20 at the Mystic Lake Center in Prior Lake. Project of the Year winners will share about their award-winning projects during an afternoon education breakout session on Nov. 20.

Submit your nomination(s) by October 3, 2025 to APWA-MN Awards Committee Chair Eric Lembke. Not sure how to prepare your nomination? Email Chapter Administrator Mary Detloff for a submittal example. You can also learn about past award winners. More information is available on the nomination forms.

Project of the Year Award Categories

• Structures - Municipal, buildings, parks, bridges
• Transportation - Roads, trails, mass transit
• Environmental - Treatment and recycling facilities, landfill, sewer projects (including stormwater management)
• Greater Minnesota - Population less than 75,000 AND located outside the seven-county metro area

Personnel Award Categories

• Director or Manager
• Superintendent or Supervisor
• Engineering Technician or Field Personnel
• Public Works Employees (i.e., maintenance, operations, other)
• Hugo G. Erickson Chapter Service Award
• NEW Young Professional Award

Excellence in Snow and Ice Control Award: Start thinking now about your nomination for the APWA Excellence in Snow and Ice Control Award! This APWA national award promotes excellence in the management and administration of public works snow and ice operations and promotes best practices in snow and ice removal while minimizing environmental impacts. Nominations for the 2026 award will likely be due in early December. Though APWA will not update their website for the upcoming award cycle until November 1, in the meantime you can learn more here.
