The APWA-MN Young Professionals (YP) Committee is dedicated to supporting the growth and development of emerging leaders in the public works sector. Its mission is to engage young professionals within the Minnesota public works industry, expose them to the benefits of APWA-MN and provide them with opportunities to become active in the chapter at both the Young Professional and Chapter levels. The committee aims to build a strong community that connects early-career individuals with experienced practitioners, helping them to advance their careers and make meaningful contributions to the industry.

The YP committee consists of four subcommittees to help focus these efforts. The event subcommittee plans annual social events, such as Whirlyball and mini golf. The professional development subcommittee organizes the year-long YP mentor program. The communications subcommittee develops content for the APWA-MN chapter website and sends communications to members. The student chapters subcommittee advises the APWA student chapters at the University of Minnesota (UMN) and the University of St. Thomas (UST).
