FCC Call for Judges

The 22nd Annual Minnesota Future City Competition (FCC) will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022. This event will take place in-person at Dakota County Technical College in Rosemount. This event is one of the best representations for students of what we do as Public Works professionals - Public Works Directors, City Engineers, and Consultants. This program continues to encourage students to be passionate about municipal engineering, developing our future workforce. FCC enables our long-term success.

FCC needs our help! There is a need for 8-10 additional City Q&A judges at the MN FCC event. The judging format is well established, allowing any of us to be a judge (click on the link below). If you have a judging partner, they will put you both on the same judging team. Please consider being a judge. It will be a rewarding experience.

  • Select “City Q&A” as the judge role
Below is the health & safety protocols and the tentative schedule.
  • Dakota County Technical College requires masks on campus for everyone. Please be advised that all students and adults must adhere to this policy and keep masks on for the entire time on campus with the exception of eating and drinking.
  • A 30-minute orientation for City Q&A judges will take place virtually on Tuesday, January 18 at 4:00pm. The orientation will be recorded to view later if you are not able to attend.
  • Student teams will set up their city models in classrooms. Judge teams (two judges per team) will visit 4 different student teams throughout the morning.
  • Coffee, treats, and box lunches will be provided.
  • Learn about the City Q&A deliverable (the video mentions that this is a live virtual experience, but here in Minnesota, it will be in-person).
