GIS Teams Help Communities During COVID-19 Pandemic

In response to COVID-19, Public Works and other local agency GIS staff within Dakota County are thinking outside the box with the development of a map showing locations offering free student lunches to those in need. Additional locations can also be added to the map

As part of this effort, GIS staff has a K12 lunch mapping app - https://smarturl.it/KidsLunch. In addition, there is a form that restaurants or others can add in their own information https://survey123.arcgis.com/share/a4f9ef3cd18541cf83566eaf29621720. This link is also available on the map's splash page.

Feel free to share this information with organizations or individuals who are in need at this time.

My challenge to all of us is to assist those in our communities that are especially being impacted during this challenging time in a similar way and to find even more ways to help those in need. And please share what you are doing so that we know what other ways we may help. In addition, APWA has established an online community where you can ask questions and share experiences.

Thank you for helping all of us keep the light of hope shining during these dark days.
