The Chapter’s Underground Utility Construction Inspector School (UUCIS) recently completed a successful 2016-2017 school year. Metro location classes were again hosted at the City of Bloomington’s Public Works Facility, and was then broadcast out to this year’s outstate location in Rochester, MN. A total 24 of students earned their certificate in the Bloomington location and 12 students earned their certificate in Rochester.

Each year, the UUCIS program is designed to provide practical information to enable people with underground utility inspection responsibilities to expertly and confidently do their jobs. Course topics include: 

• Pre-Project/Construction Preparation
• Project/Construction Safety
• Underground Pipeline Construction Inspection
• Scope Changes
• New Pipe Installation Technologies
• Contract Administration
• Regulatory Overview

Registration is now open for the 2017-2018 school year; with this school year’s outstate location being hosted by the City of Hutchinson. Seating is limited at each location, so register today at: www.apwa-mn.org/events-education/education-training/undergroud-utilities
