By Chris Petree, Vice President, APWA-MN
For the last number of years, the APWA-Minnesota Chapter has been recognizing the contributions of some of its young members by providing them with a stipend to attend the APWA National Congress. The APWA National Congress is now called PWX and in 2016 it’s in Minneapolis. This year, the chapter is continuing this tradition and we encourage our young members to consider applying.
Attendance at PWX provides many benefits, including the opportunity to learn from technical and professional development sessions, participate in technical tours, and network with peers.
This year, the chapter will offer two stipends to cover the registration costs for PWX (not to exceed $750 each). The stipend provides an opportunity for young members of our chapter, who work for an organization that may not have the resources to send staff to the PWX and who have demonstrated their commitment to public works and the Minnesota Chapter, to attend an outstanding national event.
The selected members will attend the APWA National PWX in Minneapolis, August 28-August 31, 2016.
