Chapter Volunteers Available for Earth Day Events

By Sherri Buss, Chair, Environment & Sustainability Committee

Need talented volunteers for your Earth Day or spring cleanup event? The APWA Minnesota Chapter has them!

Each year, the Minnesota chapter needs to participate in an environmental service event. This participation helps the chapter to be eligible for the National PACE Award, which our chapter has won for many years. We get the most volunteers when we work on a project with one of our member cities. So your event can benefit your city and the Minnesota chapter.

If your city is planning an Earth Day event or other spring environmental event and you need some volunteers, let the chapter’s Environment & Sustainability Committee know about the event and we will organize a group of volunteers to participate.

Last year, our team helped the City of Lakeville with a park clean up. The previous year, APWA-MN volunteers participated in a shoreland restoration project.

Please contact Committee Chair Sherri Buss at sherri.buss@TKDA.com or Committee Vice-Chair Michael Thompson at michael.thompson@ci.maplewood.mn.us if you have an event this spring that could use some APWA-MN volunteers.
