Technical Aspects of Public Works

In this course, we’ll review the basic principles of public works engineering functions and examine the materials and methods used in public works projects. Topics include soils, aggregates, bitumen, concrete, utilities, plan review, traffic counts, flexible pavement design, erosion control, surveying, public land survey, construction methods, basic project management, contracts, bidding, and records.

  • Dates: February 16-April 20, 2023
  • Cost: $700/individual class ($3,500 total)
  • Similar class structure
    • Each class will meet once per week for 10 weeks for a three-hour session.
    • Classes will consist of 5 non-credit classes
    • Classes will be held from 2 to 5 p.m.
