Minimum Qualifications of Education and Experience
Associate's degree from an accredited college in heavy equipment operations or related field and one (1) year of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.
OR
A combination of education and experience equivalent to three (3) years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.
Regular and reliable attendance is a necessary component of job/position. Individuals required to use County vehicles and equipment must have a valid driver's license and be free of any major traffic violations for the last three (3) years.
Required Special Qualifications:
Possession of a valid Minnesota Class “B” driver’s license is required upon employment.
AND
Possession of a valid Minnesota Class “A” driver’s license with tanker endorsement is required within 12 months of employment.
Note:
Individuals will be required to complete a pre-employment drug test per the Omnibus Transportation Testing Act of 1991 and will be subject to subsequent testing as required per the regulation.
Nature of Work
Under the general supervision, operates heavy equipment in snow removal and construction of roads, bridges, and other construction projects. May also perform construction, maintenance, and repair of bridges. Assists in completing regularly scheduled building maintenance tasks as well as limited janitorial duties will be required. Supports a diverse, respectful, and inclusive workplace.
