Congresswoman Angie Craig Announces National Public Works Week
Rep. Craig leads bipartisan Resolution recognizing public works professionals and their impact

on the American quality of life

[05/21/2019] - Today, U.S. Rep. Angie Craig announced that she is leading a bipartisan resolution, H. Res. 392 to recognize this week, May 19 through May 25, 2019, as National Public Works Week. Rep. Craig authored this resolution to celebrate the imperative work of our nation’s public works professionals who manage water, sewer, public transportation, and maintain public buildings and grounds.

“I’m thrilled to recognize this week as National Public Works Week to honor the critical work that goes into keeping our neighborhoods safe and operating smoothly,” said Rep. Craig. “The thousands of engineers, managers, and public works employees serve our communities every day by keeping our roads safe, our water clean and protecting our homes from floods - we owe the quality of life in our communities to these public servants.”

As a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, Rep. Craig is fighting to make sure the priorities of local governments across the district are included in a robust infrastructure investment package that keeps our communities strong and thriving for generations to come.

The Resolution is supported by the American Public Works Association and cosponsored by House Public Works and Infrastructure Co-Chairs Rep. Dina Titus (NV-1) and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1).
