The Underground Utilities Construction Inspector School was developed by the Minnesota Chapter of the American Public Works Association to provide trained and knowledgeable construction inspectors for underground infrastructure construction. Classes are designed to engage both new and seasoned construction inspectors, by providing real-world examples of issues commonly encountered in the field, as well as information about new and emerging technologies in underground utility construction.

Sessions are conducted once-a-month on Friday mornings for eight months beginning in October of every year. Beginning with the 2015-2016 school year, metro area participants gather at the City of Bloomington’s Public Works Facility to learn first-hand from public works and engineering professionals about construction related practices, issues, and technologies.

The UUCIS will also host an out-state location in St. Cloud for the 2015-2016 school year. Registration for the upcoming school year will open in August 2015.
