With the success of the new chapter website closing in on its first anniversary, the Minnesota chapter has been enjoying a whole new level of interest and variety of website content coming from the membership -- thank you!

The chapter wants to hear from you! If you have:

• Industry thoughts you’d like to share;
• Good policies you practice;
• Fellow colleagues you’d like to highlight; or
• Projects or processes you are particularly proud of -- don’t be shy! 

You can contribute by sending an article to anyone on our communications committee. Please use the chapter’s communications web content guidelines (pdf) as needed.

2014 Committee Focus
This year the committee is working with our chapter leadership to develop strategies towards achieving strategic planning goals, including:

• New Member On Boarding. Stay tuned, we are developing a New Member page on the website to assist new members in understanding how the chapter works, and to ensure they have the knowledge and tools needed to get involved right away.
• Developing Young Professionals
• Outstate Recognition and Initiatives
• Website Refinements. Any suggestions on how the website might best fit the needs of the chapter are welcome. The website is still a work in progress, and the committee is incorporating as many improvements as possible.

All Good Stuff
The Minnesota chapter boasts over 900 members. Thanks to the generosity of our chapter sponsors and volunteer committees, we are able to offer:

• Educational programs and events.
• Chapter workshops and conferences.
• $9000 in chapter scholarships annually.
• A robust awards program – we bring home multiple APWA National awards every year, raising the recognition of our chapter on the national level.

Keeping the chapter successful is both rewarding and fun!  We keep an updated list of volunteer opportunities on the website, so don’t hesitate to get involved!
