The chapter has a great conference in store, starting with an inspirational keynote presentation from Heide Stefanyshyn-Piper, a mission specialist astronaut and veteran of two space shuttle flights. A St. Paul native, engineer and Naval officer, Heide will share her inspirational journey and highlights of her experiences in space. Thursday, we'll learn about inclusion and hear from chapter committees and APWA national and chapter leaders. We're looking forward to the chapter service project at the Northland Arboretum, too. The conference will conclude Friday with sessions on the Fence Consortium, public works funding, and the impact of pandemics on public works. Of course, there will be plenty of time for networking and recreation on the shores of Gull Lake, including a four-person scramble golf event Wednesday morning.

LODGING

Grand View Lodge has set aside a number of cabins and rooming options for APWA-MN conference attendees. View cabins in the APWA-MN room block herecabins circled in red are included in our room block. Include any specific cabin request in the Special Requests section of your reservation.

Lodging reservations must be made directly with Grand View Lodge using this link: https://grandviewlodge.formstack.com/forms/apwaspring2022Make your lodging reservations no later than April 11, 2022; space may not be available after this date. Disability accommodations are available upon request; contact Grand View Lodge at 866.801.2951.

IMPORTANT CHANGE IN 2022: Grand View Lodge has changed their conference billing policies. As a result, APWA-MN must collect meal fees from conference attendees instead of attendees paying Grand View Lodge a combined meal and lodging fee as in the past. This year, the cost of meals will be included in the conference registration fee and is paid to APWA-MN. Lodging reservations, made directly with Grand View Lodge, are paid separately.

What this means for you: You’ll pay APWA-MN for meals as part of your conference registration fee instead of paying Grand View Lodge. As a result, the amount paid to APWA-MN has increased to accommodate the cost of meals. Conversely, the fee paid to Grand View Lodge has decreased because it only includes the cost of lodging (no meals).

Lodging rates per night: $139/single occupancy  |  $79/double occupancy

Note: In multi-bedroom units, single occupancy is defined as one person per bedroom/bathroom while sharing common living areas. Double occupancy is defined as two people per bedroom and sharing a bathroom. In multi-bedroom units, the reservation will be charged for all bedrooms within the unit whether or not they are occupied. Single bedroom units occupied by one person will be charged the single occupancy rate. Single bedroom units with two beds can be occupied by two people, each billed the double occupancy rate.
