September Technical Tour - Blaine Water Treatment Plant #4

The APWA-MN Chapter Membership & Events Committee invites you to join us for a technical tour of the City of Blaine’s Water Treatment Plant 4!  Hosted by the City of Blaine, the tour will be led by Stefan Higgins, Assistant City Engineer, and staff from the design partnership of Barr Engineering and Bolton/Menk.

This $26M, 8.6 MGD treatment facility doubles the total filtration capacity of the Blaine system and will allow for supplying fully filtered water to all residents and businesses until the City is near its build-out population. Mr. Higgins will present information on the additional features added to the facility to set the City up for the future including secondary vehicle and equipment storage, solar power generation, green roofs, rainwater capture, laboratory, meter shop, and even a satellite Police Office. Blaine has overcome past challenges to build one of the premiere water supply systems in the state.
